PHS Class of '59 had a great reunion

| September 9, 2004 12:00 AM

Editor,

Carrying cameras and anecdotes from the past and present, alumni from Polson High School's class of '59 reunited Aug. 27-29. Classmates traveled from Missouri, Illinois, Nevada, Oregon, Idaho, Washington and numerous Montana towns.

Packed into those three days were celebrations of two classmates' birthdays, a celebration of a newly married classmate, a 28-year wedding anniversary of another, the class photo, and establishment of an annual scholarship.

Reunion organizers were Gary Maas, Marguerite Campbell-Chitwood, Kay Clairmont-Neiss, Peggy Howell Pick, Clao Milner (all class of '59 graduates), Walene Holt Maas (PHS class of '64) and Kenny Ross (PHS class of '56, I believe). The PHS reflection of a community within a community was evidenced by Karen McIntyre Lenz's (class of '64, I believe) generosity in providing the picnic site. My husband John's comment captured the climate of the gathering, "I feel like I'm a member of the class of '59; I think they've adopted me!" Thanks for a memorable time. Looking forward to the pictures and classmates' biographies.
