Jean E. Bohanek

SPOKANE — Jean E. Bohanek, 82, died July 4, 2006 in Spokane.

She was born Oct. 31, 1923, in Lewistown, the daughter of Esther and Gerald Deffinbaugh. Later, they moved to Shelton, Wash., where she attended school. In 1931, the family moved again to Montana.

In 1936 they moved to Ronan, where Jean graduated from high school as valedictorian. She attended Kinman Business School in Spokane and also held jobs in Spokane. She met her future husband in Spokane and they married in 1944.

Jean is survived by her loving husband Bo; son Terry and his wife Raina; daughter Barbara; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren; sister and brother and several nieces and nephews.

She was a member of Catholic Daughters of the American Court Washington #196. She served as regent from 1993-1997. She was also a member of Sacred Heart Parish in Spokane.

Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated July 10 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Spokane, with committal following at Holy Cross Cemetery.
