Evelyn Lucille Doyle

POLSON — Evelyn Lucille Doyle, 88, of Polson, died at her home on April 24, 2006.

Evelyn was born on May 1, 1917, in Harrington, Wash., to Robert and Bessie Withee. She grew up and attended schools in Washington.

Evelyn married D.J. "Mick" Doyle on Aug. 6, 1942, in Great Falls. She followed Mick during his service in the U. S. Navy and after his military service they moved to Montana. They started ranching south of Dillon near Red Rock. They continued to ranch until 1979, when they retired to Flathead Lake. They continued to live on the lake until moving to Polson in 1990.

Evelyn enjoyed the ranch life and took pride in raising her family. She enjoyed gardening and her specialties were sweet peas and roses. Evelyn also enjoyed playing golf and was an avid reader. She was a member of both the VFW Auxiliary and the Elks Auxiliary.

Evelyn is preceded in death by her husband Mick; her parents; two brothers, Ernie and Bob, and sisters, Viv and Maribelle.

She is survived by her children Mike Doyle and his wife Dolores of Parker, Colo., Bob Doyle and wife Marty of Corpus Christi, Texas; Dan Doyle and wife Laura of Ed Couch, Texas; Margi Corey of Choteau; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

A memorial Mass was held April 28 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father Val Zdilla officiating.
