Cherry Valley personnel thanked

| May 31, 2006 12:00 AM

Editor,

As my third and last child graduates from Cherry Valley Elementary, I thought I would take this opportunity to thank and commend the teachers, administration, and staff that make Cherry Valley the outstanding school that it is.

From the moment that I set foot in that school, some seven odd years ago, I felt that it was going to be a special place for my children. My instincts were correct.

The teachers are all incredible individuals; each and every one dedicated to the children entrusted to them. My children received an excellent education, and given the tools and confidence necessary for them to succeed as they continue and further their education.

I was always made to feel welcome; that my presence and input counted and my help was appreciated.

This letter would not be complete without mention of or thanks to Elaine Meeks, principal extraordinaire, whose energy and vision has shaped the character of Cherry Valley, making it the warm, welcoming and nurturing teaching institution that it is. Additionally, I would like to thank the front office wonder women — Kate Hertz and Debbie Gunlock, for all that they do and have done for countless children and parents over the years, especially me and mine.

Shelley Howell, Dani Anderson, Joyce Crosby, Gail Gilchrist, Carla Farnstrom, and Ian Donovan — thank you all for teaching my children. You gave them a gift that is priceless and I will be forever grateful.

As my youngest child leaves Cherry Valley to move on to Polson Middle School, I count my blessings and look forward to the future, knowing that this child, like the two before her, had the opportunity to attend one of the finest elementary schools I know.

Thank you Cherry Valley.
