St Regis 3, Arlee 1

At St Regis this past Saturday, the 13th of September, the visiting Scarlets pushed the Lady Tigers to extras the final two games, but couldn’t tame the feline home court advantage. Violet Pablo blasted 16 kills, while Morgan Malatare and Carly Hergett collaborated for another 21 spikes. Megan Reed and Becca Whitesell combined to set 26 assists. Arlee (2-1) has a full slate ahead with 10C foes Hot Springs and Charlo on their docket today and next Tuesday sandwiching a nonconference clash with 6B Mission inbetween this Saturday.

At Pablo this past Thursday on Sep. 11th, the visiting Scarlets remained undefeated in District 14C play despite a monster game from Tyra Michel of Two Eagle River. Michel spiked 13 kills, stuffed 8 blocks, baffled receivers with 7 aces as well as contributed 7 assists. For the Scarlets, Violet Pablo countered with 12 kills and setter Megan Reed set the table with 15 assists in the road win.

At Seeley Swan, the visiting Lady Vikings pushed the host Blackhawks to a fifth and deciding set before their hosts escaped with the winning edge. Sienna Brown and Ashley Tryon combined for 14 kills, Mikaylan Roylance and Brown stroked a combined 8 aces and A. Tryon stuffed 5 blocks. The loss added a blemish to the Lady Viking then pristine record, but Charlo (4-1) will attempt to recalibrate their win streak as they travel to Hot Springs to douse the flames of the Savage Heat.

Ashley Tryon spiked a half dozen kills and Sienna Brown served a half dozen aces. Setter Mikaylan Roylance set the table with 15 assists, Shayna Nagy excavated out a half dozen digs and A. Tryon stuffed 2 blocks.

At Pablo, the visiting Lady Bobcats found themselves embroiled in a see-saw battle with Two Eagle River, but were able to emerge from each with the victory. The Lady Eagles were paced by 4 kills from Tyra Michel and 4 aces from Cassidy Wunderlich. Two Eagle River (0-4) is scheduled to travel to St. Regis this coming Saturday.

At Plains last Thursday on Sep. 11th, the visiting Lady Bullodgs tangled with the Trotters, taking them into the teens twice and twenties in the middle contest before running out of time. Mission was playing without one of their standout contributors Lindsey Johnson. Nevertheless, the pushed the taller Trotters, led by a half dozen kills from Shania Dubois along with 4 aces. Mission (2-2) hosts a pair of 10C conference clashes against Deer Lodge this Thursday, then Arlee this Saturday, followed by a 6B nonconference match at home against Loyola.

At St. Ignatius this past Tuesday, Sep. 9, the host Mission Lady Bulldogs tamed the visiting Lady Lions in the first game, then pushed the Lady Lions into extras the last game before coming out on the short end. Lindsey Johnson led Mission with 15 spikes, 6 blocks and 20 digs. Jordyn Eichert and Sydney Castor served up the lions share of aces.
