Final soccer field sponsored

Polson Youth Soccer Association would like to extend its deepest gratitude to the Jarecki Foundation and the John and Elaine Cowan Trust for their donation of $25,000 toward sponsorship of the “Sportsmanship Field” at the new Polson Soccer Complex. All four regulation-sized fields have now been sponsored, and the complex is taking shape with grading, irrigation, and hydroseeding complete. The concession/information stand and fencing is currently being constructed.

Penny and Chuck Jarecki of the Jarecki Foundation feel that sportsmanship and teamwork is paramount on the soccer field, building character in players and trust in team mates. This strengthens our youth as they grow both as individuals and members of our community. John Cowan of the John and Elaine Cowan Trust adds that the reason for naming the field “Sportsmanship” is twofold, as it distinguishes the complex itself as a significant teammate in the development of our community. Both Cowan and the Jareckis recognize its importance to not only to more than 300 youth and their families, but also to the community at large as its economic impact will be felt with increased business at shops, restaurants, and services when Polson is in a position to host games and tournaments.

The soccer fields will be finished this fall/winter, and are slated to be ready for play in the spring of 2017. Polson Youth Soccer Association is grateful to the Jarecki Foundation and the John and Elaine Cowan Trust and all the support it has received from the community. The project is still in need of funding in its final stages, and PYSA welcomes financial or in-kind donations. They are an established 501 c 3 organization.
