A Billings man incarcerated in Lake County Jail on stabbing charges has denied threatening and assaulting a detention officer.

Daniel James Kenmille, 53, pleaded not guilty in Lake County District Court last week to felony intimidation and assault on a peace officer.

According to court records, the altercation took place on Oct. 18, when Kenmille allegedly “chest bumped” a jail guard as he was being led out of his cell block. When the guard then attempted to gain control, Kenmille allegedly knocked the officer to the ground. Another detention officer responded by shooting Kenmille with a stun gun, according to documents. Afterwards, Kenmille allegedly threatened to break the legs of the guard he chest bumped and “get him when he was out” of jail.

Kenmille was incarcerated for allegedly stabbing a man in the head with a knife in Pablo on Aug. 15.

A jury trial is scheduled for March 6, 2017 in that case, and another trial was set for May 15 for the most recent charges.
