Larry A. Schiele, 74

| April 30, 2020 1:00 AM

Larry A. Schiele, 74, of Ronan, unexpectedly entered into the arms of our creator on March 26, 2020, surrounded by his loved ones in St Luke Hospital.

Larry was born on November 7, 1945 in Ronan, Montana to Martin and Elsie Schiele. He attended schools in Ronan, and then worked for his brother Marvin in Schiele Masonry. On July 31, 1965, he married Judith Thorne with whom he had three children (Shelly, Mindy, Bryan). In the 70’s, he was able to buy out his brother’s masonry business and became his own boss. His marriage to Judith ended in 1984. He later married Kathy Funk in December, 1986 with whom he had two children (Kendra, Kendall Shae). Larry’s family lovingly called him Mountain Man because of his lifelong love of spending time in the wilderness. He enjoyed being able to share his skills with his children and grandchildren while hunting, fishing, boating and camping.

Larry was a dedicated family man who provided support, strength, and wisdom. He was good hearted and kind, always making time to lend his helping hand. His humorous compassionate spirit and quick wit helped many see the brighter side through tough situations. The vitality of his spirit and tireless work ethic are reflected in the countless buildings and homes where he left his signature mark for over 45 years.

He is and will always be greatly missed by family and all who loved him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Elsie, his brothers; Norman, Marvin, Harold, Stewart, Dennis, his sisters; Ilene Fraser, Donna Toelke and his former wife Judith Thorne.

He is survived by his wife Kathy, his children; Shelly Schiele-Peters (Randy), Mindy Vert (Robert), Bryan Schiele, Kendra Schiele (Adam Fife), Kendall Shae Schiele, step-daughter Janae and her three daughters and granddaughter, nine grandchildren, his mother-in-law Dee, his brothers; Ramon, Ronald and sisters; Delores David, Sandra Noble.

A Memorial or Celebration of Life for Larry will take place at a later date.
