Marlys Glee ‘Marty’ Shepard, 83

Marlys Glee “Marty” Shepard fought her battle with cancer with grace, and lovingly received her angel wings on Monday, May 25, 2020.

Her final days were spent with loved ones, cherishing happy memories, and comforting her on her journey beyond. Everyone who knew Marty knew her for her witty sense of humor and a strength that could bare the hardest of times.

The oldest of 11 children, she was born May 19, 1937 in Ronan. She spent 30 years working the St. Ignatius School hot lunch program, eventually running it for the last 15 years. She was an avid bingo player and gardener. She loved bowling, quilt-making, and canning fruits and vegetables.

Her bright spirit is lived on through her husband of 56 years, Jerry Shepard; sons Rocky and Rhonda Pierce, Guy and Diana Shepard; four grandchildren, Rhiannon Galvan, Reece Pierce, Stephanie Shepard, and Rebecca Shepard; and three great-grandchildren Cesar Galvan, Alonzo Galvan, and Cielo Galvan.

Marty was preceded in death by siblings, Dee and Gene McKnight, Linda and Stan Schlemmer, Denny and Karol Gasser, Pat Gasser, Jay Gasser. She is survived by her siblings: Glen Gasser, Bennie and Odette Gasser, Joy and Lloyd Eckley, Cindy and Dan Brennan, and Jerry Gasser.

May we continue to see Marty’s light in all our lives and remember her as the wonderful woman she was. Rest in peace Marty.
