Richard Alan Sternjacob, 74

Richard Alan Sternjacob, 74, passed away June 15, 2020 in Polson, Montana. He was born August 28, 1945 in St. Louis, Missouri, the son of Richard J. and Colleen Sternjacob.

Richard graduated from San Jose State with a degree in Education. He served in the United States Army (Vietnam). He was a retired Deputy Sheriff in Santa Clara County, California.

Richard was a member of the Montana Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association, Mission Valley Cruisers car club, and National Rifle Associa-tion.

Richard enjoyed spending his time restoring and collecting classic cars. He was a history buff, extremely patriotic and very thankful for our veterans. He loved traveling and seeing the country by way of his class A RV. He was known for his sweet tooth and cookie extraordinaire.

Richard married Patty M. Thomas on July 12, 1990.

Richard is survived by his wife Patty M. Sternjacob, daughter Christine L. Sternjacob, his children by marriage, Shelley P. Ellerman, Kelley M. Laird, William E. Fortney Jr, and eight grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
