The dreaded mask

| June 25, 2020 12:38 PM

Due to the recent pandemic, we are all encouraged to wear a mask. You are not required to wear it in your home or when you walk down the street, however you may be required to wear one when you are on private property. So, why are so many people are up in arms about having to wear one? If you go to a hospital or doctors office, they ask that you wear a mask, for the safety of the patients, staff and even you. When you go to the grocery store, they require you to wear a shirt and shoe’s at all time, we rarely question this policy. Same theory, If you don’t like what you are watching on TV, change the channel. If you don’t want to take of your shoes when you enter someone’s home, leave. You have options, you just don’t want to use them.

Many people believe that this pandemic is over or perhaps even a farce. Regardless of the validity, the private companies have the right to refuse service to anyone. If we are required to wear a shirt in a facility, what is the difference, is it that hard to wear a mask for the short time you are indoors? Isn’t there an option to go to another place of business that doesn’t enforce this policy? If you refuse to wear a mask, find a business that doesn’t require you or the employees to wear a one. Eat there, shop there, bank there and get your medical care there. If not, please just respect the rules. Please respect the fact that other people may believe differently than you. This doesn’t mean that your rights are being taken away, it means that you are just wearing shoes, a shirt, clothes or anything else that is also required to be in that establishment.

I am tired of being insulted, criticized or once again judged for doing what I believe is the right thing for me or the people I love. You do your thing and I will do mine. Don’t scream and cuss or treat an employee like they are the root of all evil. They are just trying to do their job.
