Chiefs outmatched at divisionals

After playing their hearts out to beat Libby in the Northwest A play-in game, the Ronan Chiefs came up short in the divisional tournament with an 0-2 performance.

The Chiefs took on Butte Central in the opening round of the tournament and lost 56-30.

Ronan stuck with the Maroons early, only trailing by five points at the half, however they were stumped in the second half.

Butte Central outscored Ronan 30-10 in the final half.

Ronan played a familiar foe, Polson, the following day. The Chiefs put together a better game offensively however could not recover from a slow start, falling to the Pirates 65-55.

Ronan senior Trey Don’t Mix was a highlight in the game recording 17 points and six rebounds.

This was the Chiefs first year under new head coach Ron Couture.

The Chiefs only graduate two varsity seniors this year.
