November’s concerts for the 38th season of the Glacier Symphony, Orchestra and Chorale will be presented in a digital-only format, following a decision from the October meeting of the board of directors.

Maestro John Zoltek explored the idea during the monthly meeting.

“During the meeting Maestro Zoltek, along with Ron Osterbauer, director of development and operations, expressed concern for continuing to present concerts with live audiences when cases are on the rise in our area,” said Dr. Jon Johnson, board president. “The board discussed the topic at length and agreed unanimously that the upcoming November concerts should be performed without live audiences and released instead only in a digital format.”

Zoltek said he has found that the new digital concert series has been a hit with symphony patrons.

“We have had extremely positive responses from our digital audience members this season. Most of them have communicated that they would like us to continue the digital concerts even after COVID is under control. Digital is a great way to view our wonderful orchestra musicians and exciting soloists close up as they collectively combine their artistry in the interpretation of the finest in symphonic music.”

Digital tickets for all of the “20 microcosm 21” concerts can be obtained by visiting glaciersymphony.org or calling the box office at 406-407-7000.
