‘The Pinup Girls’ a musical salute to veterans

| July 4, 2021 7:40 AM

The Port Polson Players, in association with Mission Valley Friends of the Arts, continue their 46th season this week with a musical love letter honoring our veterans. “The Pinup Girls” plays at Polson’s beautiful log theatre on the lake July 8-25.

Written by James Hindman and Jeffrey Lodin, by special arrangement with Stage Rights (www.stagerights.com), “The Pinup Girls” is a regional premiere.

The show centers on actual letters to and from servicemen and women from World War I to Afghanistan and features a wide range of music from the many eras of those conflicts. From “Gonna Sit Right Down and Write Myself a Letter” and “Someone to Watch Over Me” to “Abba-abba Honeymoon” and “All The Single Ladies,” the production is a rollicking yet reverent salute to veterans from all branches of the military.

Tickets are $19 for adults, $18 for senior citizens and students, with a special $10 ticket price for veterans.

Curtain time is 8 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, with Sunday matinees at 2 p.m.
