Ayleen Bain (Whittekiend, Schliep), 94

In Hazleton, Idaho, on Oct. 4, 1926, Myrtle Ayleen was born to Claude and Kate (Garrett) Whittekiend.

Ayleen went to school for 11 years in Polson and graduated from Twin Falls High School in 1945. She then attended Albion College. She married Robert Schliep. They later divorced. She married Tom Bain in 1989, and he passed away 12.5 years later.

Preceding Ayleen in death were her parents, a still-born baby boy, her ex-husband Robert and husband Tom, sisters Shirley and Reathel, and great-grandson Bryant.

Ayleen is survived by three sons, Leland (Cathy), Glenn (Vickie) and Gordon (Joyce); seven grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and sisters Lois and Cleo.

In the past several years she had been able to stay in her home with the help of wonderful caregivers, especially Cathy Finch.

Memorials, in lieu of flowers, may be made to the St.Ignatius Senior Center or the Mission Valley United Methodist Church.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Aug. 7 at the Mission Valley United Methodist Church. A luncheon will follow at the church. The family will have a private graveside service in the afternoon.
