At least one Ronan school was in lockdown Monday after reports of threats being made to students via social media. The school district announced on its Facebook page Monday night that “thanks to the efforts of local law enforcement, we were able to identify and locate the student responsible for the threats made. At this time, the threats to RSD have been mitigated. We will run school (Tuesday) as normal.”
A Ronan School Board meeting scheduled for Monday night was postponed until 7 p.m. Monday, May 17.
The Lake County Sheriff’s Office followed with a short statement issued Tuesday morning, stating: “The Sheriff’s Office investigated the matter and cited a juvenile in connection to the threats. There is no ongoing threat to Ronan schools.”
