| August 4, 2022 12:00 AM

On the morning of July 7, 2022 Lavonne Ida Ness Joseph was called home to be with the love of her life Darren X. Joseph and her baby boy Kenneth Caye.

She was 55 years old; born on July 19, 1966, in Philipsburg to Kenny and Theresa Ness. In her early education she attended Ronan schools, she then attended Chemawa Indian School in Salem, OR, and finished her high school years at Two Eagle River School in 1984. Lavonne resided the majority of her life in Ronan, but had recently moved to Hot Springs.

She was a caring spirit and battled her adversities head on. She had a strong work ethic and held many different jobs throughout her life. She worked as a heavy equipment operator, flagger, fire fighter, tribal fishery, waitress, housekeeper, planted trees, and picked melons. She always kept a roof over her head, a job, maintained a car, managed her finances, and for that the family is proud of her. She made her own way in this world, cared for many and was never a burden to anyone.

Lavonne was everyone’s favorite Auntie. She enjoyed visiting and spending time with her friends and family. She was a lover of being outdoors and harvesting wild plants.

She was preceded in death by her husband Darren X. Joseph, her baby boy Kenneth Caye, her parents Kenneth and Teresa Ness, her brothers Raymond Curley, Skip Burns, and her sister Aggie Woodcock.

She is survived by her brothers and sisters Dixon Curley, David (Jolynn) Woodcock - Denver CO., Gerald “Gary” (Angie) Woodcock, Joe Cahoon, Eileen “Leenie” (Thaddeus) Marion - Beach Park, IL., Janice Ness - Seattle WA., Bill Ness, Ed (Krista) Ness, and her best friend and road dog Lea Tea.
