Senior Center Calendars

Polson

The Polson Senior Center, located at 504 Third Ave. E., is open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays. Lunch is available from 11:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. weekdays. Memberships (age 50-plus) are available for $15 per year on a voluntary basis. Individuals and small groups are always welcome to lounge, work puzzles, read, play card or board games, billiards, etc. Call us with your questions at 406-883-4735, or email us at polsonseniorcenter@gmail.com.

This year is the 50th anniversary of our Polson Senior Center. We are looking forward to a great celebration. If you have stories or pictures to share from previous years, let us know. Our historian and directors are beginning to compile a display for us to share. If you had or have relatives that were active at the center, let us know.

Activities

Exercise class: 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday. (low impact; seated, if desired)

Bridge: Postponed. Normally Tuesday and Friday. Call or come in to get on the players list.

Mahjong: 12:30 p.m. Wednesdays.

Pinochle: 12:30 p.m. Thursdays. We play 3-5 hands per table. Coaching available.

Bingo: 7 p.m. Fridays.

Thursday, Jan. 20: Free hearing clinic, 10 a.m. to noon.

Pool: We need expertise in repair of some well used cue sticks. Also, if you have some gently used cue sticks, or cue tip repair kits, we could use them. Practice for weekly free open pool tournaments; age 50-plus (younger if supervised by a parent!).

Play would be at 3 p.m. Thursdays, or any other time or day preferred by players. Pool is free; no entry fee. Organized weekly pool games would start Jan. 6. Practice from 8 to 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 to 3 p.m. on most weekdays.

Meals

Lunch is served in the Center, by take-out or by home delivery, from 11:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. If you are a new client, call 406-883-4735 for information about payment arrangements. Meals cost $5.

Wednesday, Jan. 19: Pulled pork barbecue sandwich, tots, baked beans, creamy fruit salad and apple pie.

Thursday, Jan. 20: Meatloaf, baked potato, green beans, green salad and tapioca pudding.

Friday, Jan. 21: Soft shell taco, refried beans, salsa, sour cream, Frito-corn salad and orange cake.

Monday, Jan. 24: Split pea soup, corn bread, cottage cheese with fruit, and poke cake.

Tuesday, Jan. 25: Pork chops, cheesy potatoes, stir fry veggies, fruit jello and pumpkin bars.

Wednesday, Jan. 26: Chicken bake, dressing, mixed veggies, cranberry salad and lemon pudding.

Thursday, Jan. 27: Polish dog, macaroni with cheese, corn, sauerkraut salad and a brownie.

Friday, Jan. 28: Roast beef, potatoes and gravy, green beans, peach and pretzel salad, and birthday cake.

Monday, Jan. 31: Beef noodle soup, roll, green salad and dump cake.

Dixon

Dixon Senior Center continues to serve our community and hopes everyone is staying happy and healthy. All are invited to come enjoy dinner, breakfast and/or pinochle. We are also accepting take-out meal requests. Meals will be served at 5 p.m. Monday and Thursday. Meals are $4 per serving and are deliverable to Dixon residents upon request.

Activities

We will be taking a break from pinochle during the winter for the safety of our seniors. It will return in the spring.

Thursday, Jan. 20: Chili, cornbread, salad and dessert.

Monday, Jan. 24: Sandwiches, chicken noodle soup, vegetables and dessert.

Thursday, Jan. 27: Chicken enchiladas, rice and beans, salad and dessert.
