Authorities ID boy who died in ATV crash near Pablo

The Lake County Sheriff/Coroner’s Office on Thursday identified the 11-year-old boy who died in an ATV accident March 20 in Lake County as Edward Hamilton of Missoula.

Hamilton died of blunt force trauma after an ATV he was driving rolled over on Canal Road near Pablo at about 2:50 p.m., according to a Montana Highway Patrol report.

Hamilton was attempting to make a U-turn at Snyder Hill Lane when the Polaris X2 800 ATV went off the west side of the road and into an embankment. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

MHP reports that Hamilton was wearing a helmet, though it is unknown if he was wearing a seat belt.
