| February 2, 2023 12:00 AM

The Polson Chamber of Commerce slipped into the Roaring Twenties Saturday night for its “Moon Over Polson” banquet and awards ceremony at KwaTaqNuk Resort. Beads, feathers and flapper attire set the mood for a festive evening.

Brian Miskimins of Anderson Broadcasting was master of ceremonies. “Lots of work and energy went into this celebration of our local community and it was so heartwarming to see all of the support for the business community,” he said.

This year’s winners were:

• Non-Profit Organization of the Year: North Lake County Library Foundation

• Polson Leadership Award: Carol Lynn Lapotka of HandMADE Montana

• Citizen of the Year: Toni Whealon, president of the Greater Polson Community Foundation

• Community Volunteer of the Year: Katie Walter of the Mission Valley Ice Arena

• Business of the Year: Lake City Bakery

• Chamber Ambassador of the Year: Rod Johnson

Representatives from Polson Schools were also on hand to honor the following teachers and staff: kindergarten teacher Patricia Barfoot and high-school instructional para Ivie Schoenen.
