The Full Moon March 9 is called the Worm Moon. As the ground temperature rises the worms come out, and the robins return; a sure sign of spring, even if they show up early. I hope they showed up yesterday.

The Polson center is seeking a full-time cook, salary based on experience. Apply in person at the center.

Free tax-filing assistance is available on Mondays or Thursdays from now until April 13. Come in or call for an appointment and pick up a filing information packet.

Sign up at the center to receive monthly calendars for food and activities, special events, detailed reports from the board of directors, news from individual members, etc.

Activities at the center, open to all, include: bowling for fun, 1 p.m. Tuesdays; bridge, 12:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Fridays (beginners welcome); low-impact exercise, 10:30-11:30 a.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays; Tai Ji Quan – Moving for Better Balance, taught by Dixie Bisson, 10-11 a.m. Tuesdays and 1-2 p.m. Wednesdays (new people are welcome); pinochle, 12:30-3 p.m. Thursdays; bingo, 7 p.m. Fridays, with playing card bingo on the first Wednesdays and third Thursdays. The pool table is open 8 a.m.-3 p.m. weekdays.

A veteran’s representative will visit the center from 10 a.m.-noon Tuesday, March 21.

Meals are available for sit-down, take-out or delivery from 11:45 a.m.-12:45 p.m. weekdays and cost $5. The menu is posted each week at the center; call before 10 a.m. for deliveries.

Main dishes include: BBQ ribs, March 9; sausage links with gravy, March 10; navy bean soup, March 13; chicken enchiladas, March 14; sweet and sour meatballs, March 15; and chicken strips, March 16.

The center is open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekdays at 504 3rd Ave. E. For more information, call 406-883-4735 or email polsonseniorcenter@gmail.com.
