Polson businesses burglarized
Three Polson businesses reported break-ins recently: Betty’s Diner and the adjacent Stageline Pizza, as well as Mission Mountain Natural Foods on Main Street, which was broken into twice in four days.
Polson Police Chief George Simpson said his department has identified suspects “and we are working leads at this time.”
Meanwhile, he encourages residents and business owners to lock doors and windows, be vigilant, and report any suspicious activities. He advises businesses to install quality video systems and alarms, and to secure or hide cash and valuables when away from the business.
In addition to the Polson break-ins, Lake County Undersheriff Ben Woods says his department has received two recent reports of burglaries, and St. Ignatius Police reported one.
"We frequently see where burglars use tools or methods to gain entry into buildings that are left around by property owners," he says. "Things such as ladders, or other tools that can be used to breech a door should be stored away. Obviously unlocked buildings are an easy target as well."
