Ronan girls fourth, Polson fifth at Hellgate Invite

Ronan took fourth at the Hellgate Girls Wrestling Invitational in Missoula over the weekend, having two wrestlers win championships, while Polson took fifth with several placers.

Ronan’s River Cote was first at 105 pounds, winning by fall in all three of her matches, including a 52-second pin over Flathead’s Juliette Cuevas in the championship match. Tirza TwoTeeth was also a champion, winning the 235-pound bracket, notching two falls as well as a pin in the championship bout.

Also in the 235-pound bracket, Judasha Ellsworth was fourth, and Haven Houle was second with a two-pin performance in the tournament.

Destiny Finley was second at 130 pounds, pinning her first two opponents.

The Maiden’s Leona Dodson Howe was also second in the 155-pound bracket, notching three falls on her way through the championship bracket.

Lola Schock was fifth at 140 pounds, picking up a 12-8 decision over Polson’s Piper Adams in the fifth-place match.

Ronan teammate Marie Chef was fourth at 110 pounds, notching three pins and two decisions.

For Polson, Abighail Sorrell finished second in the 190-pound bracket, notching pins in 1:07 and 2:39 to improve her tournament record to 16-2 on the season.

Avari Stone placed third at 105 pounds, notching three pins, including a 95-second pin over Missoula-Sacred Heart’s Hailey Milyard in the third-place match.

Venessa Wheeler finished fifth in the 145-pound bracket. She notched two pins, one of those being a fall of Flathead’s Kylie Amundson in the fifth-place match to improve her tournament record to 19-5.

Piper Adams was sixth at 140 pounds, picking up one pin.

Mission-Charlo’s Meadow Ragen was fifth at 155 pounds, notching three falls, including a pin in 2:46 in the fifth-place match over Flathead’s Kaydence Edwards.
