Lake County's first baby of year – Benjamin Marshall Whalen – was born Jan. 5, 2024, at the St. Luke New Beginnings Birth Center to Lee and Nancy Whalen of Ronan. He weighed 6 lbs., 14 oz. and measured 20 inches long. Benjamin joins his sibling, Fiona. As is the tradition for first babies, Benjamin and his parents received a cornucopia of gifts, donated by local businesses.
