POLSON — After almost three dozen meetings between the two parties over the past two years, representatives from the Polson teachers union and school board will meet with a mediator next week in an effort to come to terms on a contract that would resolve pay and contract issues for both last year and this year, and the teachers union has formed a crisis committee to explore its options as the two sides continue to work toward a settlement.

She met and married Raymond Babb in Mexico where Ray worked as a vibration engineer and a pilot for Litton and Boeing. Ray died on April 6, 1996. Christina lived in the Bigfork area before moving to Dayton after the death of her husband.

Seepay wildfire nears containment
DIXON — Things were looking much better Tuesday at the Seepay 2 wildfire midway between Dixon and Perma. The fire, which is suspected to have been human caused, started Aug. 28 and has covered some 8,000 acres and cost about $3.4 million to fight, is about 90 percent contained with Sept. 15 given as the expected containment date, according to the fire management team's daily report.
