Jeanne Anita Hayward, 49, died on Thursday, April 19, 2007, after a seven year battle. Jeanne is finally out of pain in a better place. Jeanne was dedicated to family and friends, she was so intuitive, daring and full of wisdom, knowing how to take on whatever life brought. Jeanne was an amazing, compassionate, gifted person.

Once again, my friends George and Helen Thomas in Seattle emailed a timely item. Helen is a school teacher, George is an Air Force veteran who served with me at Malmstrom AFB, Great Falls, in the early ‘50s. Both theoretically are retired. Helen still does substitute teaching. They were recognized recently for their volunteer service. Over the past decade Helen has served 3,552 volunteer hours and George 7,142 volunteer hours.

A St. Ignatius man was flown to St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula on Friday afternoon after his pickup truck was struck by a train in Dixon.
