RONAN — Margery “Pudgie” Peck Cavalar, 76, died Oct. 11, 2008, at St. Luke Hospital in Ronan of complications from surgery. She was born July 20, 1932, in Columbia Falls to Pearl and Asa Peck. She was number 12 of 14 children. Her older brothers gave her the nickname “Pudgie” for her pudgy nose as a young girl. She grew up in Columbia Falls and later moved to Polson with her family.

Peder " Pete" Jensen age 61 of Ronan, passed away on Thursday, October 2, 2008 surrounded by his family at his home in Ronan. He was born June 16, 1947 in Missoula, MT, to Millo and Fern "Bertelson" Jensen. He grew up and attended schools in Ronan graduating with the Ronan High School class of 1966. Pete served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War serving 4 years discharged in 1970. He returned to Ronan and attended Missoula Vo-Tech and received a forestry surveying degree, after which he returned to work at Arnie's Texaco. He married Marlena Parkey, January 1971 in Weatherford, TX.

Our beloved mother, Leota A. Wegner, 78, passed away in Port Orchard, Wash., July 10, 2008 with her family by her side. Leota was born Sept. 12, 1929 in Elgin, ND, to Edwin and Helen (Dittus) Sept. She graduated from Elgin HS in 1947. On June 6, 1948 Leota was married to Herbert H. Wegner in Leith, ND. The farmed and raised cattle on the Wegner homestead for 13 years. They had two daughters, Cherelyn and Darla. In 1961, the family moved to Polson where Herb and Leota operated the Lake Enco Service Station for seven years. Leota worked at the Grill Cafe and Don's Variety in the luncheonette.
