BREKAING NEWS Court rules against appeal in deck collapse case
The Montana Supreme Court this week upheld a lower court decision holding that the city of Polson shared negligence in the 2004 deck collapse at Diamond Horseshoe Lounge and Casino.

Mission girls bound for divisional tourney at SKC
LIBBY — Shooting troubles plagued the Mission girls at districts, but the Bulldogs gritted their teeth and fought through it just the same. It wasn’t pretty but after a 46-34 loss to Thompson Falls in the semis and a 40-30 win over Plains in the consolation final, the Bulldogs are headed into the Class 7-B divisional tournament as a three seed.

Pablo man killed in high-speed crash
PABLO — A 20-year-old Pablo man was killed in a high-speed vehicle crash on Skyline Road on Saturday afternoon, as he was apparently being chased by a man in another vehicle.

All House and Senate committee work and floor votes must be completed by Feb. 26 on bills going to the opposite body. RONAN — The Charlo girls took their third shot at Hot Springs’ basketball club on Friday, this time in the District 14-C championship. The third time wasn’t the charm for Charlo, but the girls took second and will be competing in the Divisional tourney next week.
Charlo boys season cut short
RONAN -— After three previous games, the Charlo Vikings pushed it into final gear for their final match of the district tourney against Hot Springs and as great as the game was, it finished - after four regulation periods and an overtime stanza - in favor of the Savage Heat, 70-62.

Meth bust in Blue Bay area
BLUE BAY — Lake County Sheriff’s deputies made a significant drug bust that led to three arrests on Feb. 9, recovering methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia from a pair of motor homes in the Blue Bay area.

ARLEE — The Warriors and Scarlets got together for their final game of the season and a senior night celebration last Saturday. The Arlee Warriors played Thompson Falls earlier in the week and both teams finished it all off against Lincoln before the start of the District 13-C tournament.

SUPERIOR — The Two Eagle River Eagles and Lady Eagles each took two losses this past weekend. The girls first lost 60-17 to Charlo on Friday in Pablo, then were beaten 67-24 by Superior on Saturday on the road. The boys fell 55-39 to Charlo and 76-46 to Superior on the same nights.
