POLSON — A 23-year-old Pablo man failed to live up to his suspended sentence responsibilities, which were invoked after he caused a fatal accident involving the death of his brother in 2005.

Summer trip opens young traveler's eyes
June 10, 2011 was the date of the last day of school. On this day, a lot of teenagers were celebrating by making trips to the lake or entertaining friends in front of the TV. For the youth of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, however, the beginning of summer meant the beginning of the trip of a lifetime. We were heading to Egypt and the Holy Land. The mission trip we had been preparing for was finally here.

Boys and Girls Club summer activities end Aug. 19
The Boys and Girls Club will take a short break to upgrade the facilities at both sites and pre-plan the strategies in serving club members for the rest of the school year. Aug. 22-26, the club sites will both be closed to members while staff repairs, cleans and rearranges the program rooms and equipment. Aquatic center dealt setback from planning board
POLSON — It’s been a long road for Mission Valley Aquatics — and it’s a 1,450-ft-long road that has created the most recent setback for the non-profit group working to build a public indoor aquatic center in Polson.

Roger Guthrie, 63, of Polson, passed away Aug. 4, at St. Patrick Hospital, Missoula, from cancer. He was born on March 23, 1948 in Minot, N.D. to Burnette and James Guthrie.
Lyle Baxter
Lyle was born to Ross and Mabel Baxter in Helena, on their seventh anniversary. A Montana cowboy, he learned to ride, rope, build or fix darn near everything. He got hired to lasso chimneys off homes damaged during the 1935 earthquakes, earning treats from grateful families. He finished high school in railroad cars that replaced the damaged school. He later spent several months in a body cast, having barely survived a car wreck. He struggled quietly from lifelong pain, but his determination to “get it done” rarely faltered.

Timothy F. McLure
Timothy F. McLure, 52, passed away unexpectedly on the night of Friday, July 22, 2011 while attending a concert in Missoula. Timothy was born in Kittery Maine, Nov. 18, 1958; soon after his family relocated to Polson where he spent the majority of his life including his schooling. Tim graduated from Polson High in 1976 and went on to do some schooling at the University of Montana.
