Polson's Duford tallies 18 goals, four hat tricks on season
The 2015 Lady Pirate girls soccer squad (6-2 conference, 9-4 overall) turned in the second best record in the history of Polson soccer tracing back to its inception in 1997. The high water mark belongs to the 2002 Lady Pirates (8-0-2 conference, 11-2-2 overall), who were winners of the Eastern A conference crown that season. At the State A tournament, the 2002 squad lost a semifinal shootout to Whitefish, then went on to take the consolation match to place third. Lily Coble scored 22 goals that 2002 season, marking her as one of the most potent weapons ever to plunder the pitch among the annals of Lady Pirate soccer lore. Game result archives from other surrounding seasons have not been able to be perused to ascertain whether Coble owns the title for highest goal scorer in Polson history.
