Robert (Bob) Neil Shipley passed away Saturday, August 19, 2017 at Providence St. Joseph Medical Center in Polson after a short bout with cancer. Bob was born to Elmer Shipley and Vera (Burlingame) Shipley in Somers on January 1, 1926. The family moved to Polson in 1935 and Bob graduated from Polson High School in 1943. It was during WWII that he entered the Army Air Corps Aviation Cadet program. He liked to say that they ran out of airplanes before he completed training. After the war, he went to college and graduated from medical school in 1953. He practiced in Portland, Seattle, and then in San Diego.

Margaret Belle “Margiebel” Hart passed away peacefully on July 22, 2017 in Whitefish, Montana. Margiebel was born October 20, 1929, to C. Wyman and Velma Taylor in Missoula, Montana. She grew up in Polson, Montana, where she graduated from Polson High School in 1947. She married Lawrence “Larry” Hart in 1947, and in 1950, they moved to Lakeside, Montana, where they raised their family. Margiebel remained active in her communities in Montana, Oregon, and Virginia, and she was a member of Bahari, Western Star, and Eastern Star.
