Gerald Ray Anderson, age 55, of Polson, Montana, passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2017 at St. Joseph Hospital in Polson. He was born on June 7, 1962 in Polson to Merle and Carol Anderson. He was the oldest of their four children.

Joshua LeRoy (Lobdell) Normandeau, 32

Joshua LeRoy (Lobdell) Normandeau was born May 29, 1985 in Polson. He passed away October 12, 2017 at Kalispell Regional Hospital from complications due to Huntington’s Chorea with family by his side.

Frances Hamm, 85

Frances Hamm (nee Hirsch) was born in Evanston, Illinois on October 27, 1931 she passed away peacefully on October 7, 2017 at the age of 85 in Redmond, Washington. There were several stops along the way, including Seattle, Monroe, Washington, Clear, Alaska and Polson.

Live until you die! Her whole being echoed this as she challenged Dr. Wagner to get her to Alex’s Wedding and then for her to be there for the birth of her great-grandchild – Nevada.

David Leon O’Masters was born in Woodland California October 3, 1942 to parents Lovell O’Masters and Marie Schiebelhut. He had two sisters, Barbara Jean and Marie Ann, and a brother, Conrad.

Roberta Grace Erickson, 85, passed away at home in Polson from natural causes on October 2, 2017. Roberta was born on September 7, 1932 to Ross and Bessie Ruth Erickson. She grew up in Lewistown, Montana with her older brother, Paul, and younger sister, Mary Lou. Roberta graduated from Fergus High School.

Kristian John Wock, 37

The sadness is overwhelming as we announce the passing of our son and brother Kristian John Wock at his home in Maryland on September 21. Kristian was born August 6, 1980 to Keith and Toni Wock. His sister Amber was born October 10, 1982 and made the family complete.

Chester “Chet” Johnson, 95

Chester “Chet” Johnson, age 95, passed away September 26, 2017 in Polson. Chester’s journey through life began on the northern coastline of Siberia on the Arctic Ocean on July 7, 1922 at a fur trading post operated by his Swedish father, Carl Johnson and his Russian mother, Marie Zimina Johnson. Two books about the Arctic refer to Chester as the first documented Caucasian baby born north of the Arctic Circle. Arrival in Polson was in 1924 where the family raised foxes and farmed. Some of his life is documented in the book, A Cup of Tears.

Raymond Dale Goakey, age 73, passed away Friday, September 22, 2017 at his home in Polson. Ray was born April 17, 1944 to Raymond and Lillian (Nottingham) Goakey in Big Timber, Montana.
