Warriors down Loyola, edged in overtime
At Missoula, visiting Arlee rallied from a two possession halftime deficit to knot the contest at 63 apiece. The Warriors had possession of the ball during the waning seconds of regulation, but couldn’t connect with their shot, thereby forcing the extra period. Thereafter, Cody Tanner would net a deuce and 3-4 from the charity stripe. But Ram free throw conversion, capped by a late deuce by Parker Pratt, would eek out the extra frame contest in favor of the host team.

Bucs buckle against Broncs in Frenchtown
At Frenchtown, the visiting Pirates intended to play a close contest much like their earlier encounter, but the host Broncs were better prepared for a quicker start this time around. Although the Pirates held the two leading scorers for the Broncs below their per game average, Frenchtown compensated by spreading the wealth around as well as still placed a trio in double figures to counter Polson lead scorers. Both teams could yet find themselves squaring off yet again during the postseason.

Lady Bulldogs fall at Bigfork
At Bigfork, the initial game plan drawn up by the visiting Lady Bulldogs entailed playing the host Vals closer than in their previous meeting in which Mission scored five dozen in a four point loss during which they place a trio in double figures with a fourth knocking on the door. While their defense held Bigfork by just under two dozen below what they scored the last time, the Lady Bulldog offense simultaneously sputtered through three quarters before their engine started to synchronize. But by that time, the differential would be too great to overcome in the alloted time remaining.

Water Rights Act the right thing for Montana

Water Compact legislation fails to protect Montana
Less than one month ago, Senator Daines introduced Senate Bill 3019, The Montana Water Rights Protection Act, to the U.S. Senate. In his attempt to fix the CSKT Water Compact, which is the most divisive legislation in modern Montana history, Sen. Daines made the issue worse. The legislative intent of his bill is to obtain congressional approval of the CSKT Water Compact and to provide federal appropriations to implement this compact. Unfortunately, it goes way beyond that. His Montana Water Rights Protection Act creates much more controversy in addition to the original taking of water rights from 350,000 Western Montanans. Like the CSKT Water Compact, there is so much wrong with this legislation.
