Arlee gridders fall to Plains, 46-20

Polson Pirates edge Ronan, 40-36, on Homecoming
At Ronan, the gridiron rendition of the Rez rivalry wrangle between the visiting Pirates and the host Chiefs unfolded much like other tradition classics, an entertaining contest that exhibited momentum shifts and pendulum swings. The game culminated Homecoming week for Ronan. The Chiefs gridders played a caliber of contest not only fit for the occasion, but warrants a ranking among some of the historical highlights among the series.
Polson Pirates eke out Homecoming win over Ronan Maidens
At Ronan Friday night during Homecoming, the volleyball clash with cross-county rival Polson held extra significance for the Maidens beyond mere conference implications. Tradition and pride were also on the line. It was patently evident that both teams were geared up for showcasing some of their best capabilities because the contest would extend to a fifth and final set that hung in the balance until the very end.
Kelly medals on Polson Bay, Lady Pirate golfers take third
At Hamilton this past weekend, both Polson and Ronan golf teams competed on last year’s state tournament course in a final tuneup before the postseason begins. The Lady Pirate girls place a trio among the top 10 with Ellie Thiel leading the way with a sub-90 for a third place finish that coincided with their team score.
Mission Valley Prep Cross Country roundup
Three different running events were on the slate for various cross-country teams within the county last week. The most widely attended was in Thompson Falls, where Ronan’s James Normandeau staved off a challenge by Frenchtown’s Tyler Schmautz to edge out a win at the finish line by a margin of less than three tenths of a second with both turning in sub-17s.
CSKT plans prescribed burn near Ronan
The Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes Division of Fire Fuels Program is planning on conducting a prescribed burn Wednesday, four miles south of Ronan and south of Mollman Pass Trail Road.

City of Polson Fire Department, One (1) Rescue Pumper Fire Apparatus and equipment in accordance with the plans and specifications on file with the City of Polson, State of Montana. The bid package can be obtained from the City's website at www.cityofpolson.com, or by e-mail to the City Clerk: cityclerk@cityofpolson.com or at City Hall, 106 1st St E, Polson, Montana. Bids will be received at Polson City Hall, 106 1st Street East, Polson, Montana 59860 until 3:00 o'clock P.M. on the 17th day of September, 2019 at which time and place all submitted bids will be opened and considered. Bids must be accompanied by a Bidders Bond or Cash in an amount at least 10% of the amount bid and made payable in favor of the City of Polson as liquidated damages in the event the bidder fails to enter into a Contract for the equipment and bid as accepted. The surety company must be listed in United States Treasury Department Circular #570 and licensed in the State of Montana.
