John Hosch Weaver

POLSON - John Hosch Weaver, 89, of Great Falls and Polson died of natural causes on Saturday July 31, 2004 at St. Joseph Hospital in Polson. He was born on Sept. 4, 1914, in Great Falls to James and Bertha K. (Hosch) Weaver. He grew up in Lewistown and graduated from Fergus County High School. John attended the University of Montana and received a Bachelor of Business and Psychology, before attending Harvard Law School and graduating in 1939.

He married Catherine "Kay" Shryne on Feb. 25, 1940. He served as a lieutenant in the Army during World War II.

After the service he joined the law firm of Glover, Stephenson and Hoover in Great Falls, and eventually became a partner in the firm that is now known as Jardine, Stephenson, Blewett & Weaver in Great Falls.

He and Kay maintained their home in Great Falls and summered at Flathead Lake in Polson. He was a past member of the Jaycees, Rotary, President of Montana Bar Association, and received several national appointments. He was a avid sportsman, hunter, fisherman, skier and was a member of the Ski Bums.He was preceded in death by his parents.

Surviving are his wife Kay of Great Falls; a daughter, Kristine McArthur of Boise, and a grandson, John McArthur of Boise.

Local arrangements and cremation under the direction of Grogan Funeral Home, Polson.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 9, at the Episcopal Church of the Incarnation, 600 Third Ave.W., Great Falls, under the direction of Schnider Funeral Home, Great Falls. Everyone is invited to a reception following the services in the Sundown Room at the Country Club Towers in Great Falls.
