Arnold Wesley Swaney

ST. IGNATIUS - Arnold Wesley (Arnie) Swaney, 31, died at his home on Aug. 3, 2004.

Arnie was born April 20, 1973, in Missoula. He attended school in St. Ignatius and graduated from Two Eagle River School in 1992. On his 21st birthday he joined the U.S. Army.

During this time he married Serena Spotted Elk and she bore him three children: Dakota, 10, Allea, 8 and Chaz. 7. He has another daughter Ashton, 12, by Andrea Kelly.

Arnie is survived by his mother Colleen "EO" Swaney of St. Ignatius; his father, Jimi Lena of Wevoka, Okla.; brother, Lawrence (Lacey) and beloved niece Luella; his sister, Juanita "Neena" Swaney, his aunts and uncle, Doug Swaney, Kelly Swaney, Beverly Swaney and daughter Naomi, Bonnie Lee Swaney (Rick); several cousins, a large extended family and many, many friends along with the neighborhood children.

He was preceded in death by his uncles, Kitty Kat, Cricky, Bill and his grandparents.

Mass was celebrated Aug. 6 in the St. Ignatius Catholic Church. Burial followed in the St. Ignatius Catholic Cemetery with military rites.
