Laura Lee Grant

POLSON -Laura Lee Grant, 38, formerly Laura Lee Todd, of Polson died Saturday, Aug. 14, 2004, of injuries received in a boating accident on Flathead Lake.

Laura was born Oct. 8, 1965, in Ronan. She graduated from Polson High School where she excelled in track, volleyball, and later went on to play Volleyball for Northwest Christian College in Eugene, Ore. She also attended Salish Kootenai College and Eastern Montana College.

Laura returned to Polson to help run the family business at Boettcher Park, where she spent her childhood days. Besides making snow cones, popcorn, and cotton candy, she was known for making the best burger in town.

She was the current administrative assistant for the Lake County Solid Waste Department. Laura married Edward Todd in Polson in 1990 and they had one son, Conrad Todd. Conrad was Laura's reason for life and living.

Laura had many hopes and dreams for her son, but none more than her wish that he just be happy. Conrad will miss his mommy very much, as will Ed, who always loved their time together as a family. She and Ed later divorced but remained partners in life. They enjoyed many adventures with friends and family.

Laura's favorite pastimes included fishing with her son Conrad, sitting around the campfire and visiting with friends and family.

Laura was known for her generosity and willingness to help anyone in need. Her greatest joys were her son Conrad, music, singing duets with her sister Tami and her love for animals.

Laura is the daughter of Russell and Lillian Grant of Polson. Family members include her biological parents, Judy Iverson of Oregon, Russell and Susan Sartin of Oregon and Ted and Shari Iverson of Billings; her brothers and sisters include Todd Grant of Nebraska , Don of Washington, Richard of California, Erik and Ryan Iverson of Oregon, Karen Tucker and her husband Jerry of Washington, twin sister Tami Hart and husband Randy of Polson, and Carmen Iverson of Oregon, and many nieces and nephews and cousins.

Her extended family included Bert and Cookie Todd of Charlo, Bill Todd of Kansas City, Mo., and Kyle Todd and wife Veronica of Hereford, Ariz.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Aug. 19 (today) at 11 a.m. at the New Life Christian Center, Polson, with Pastor John Payne (Heritage of Faith Christian Church) officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery, Polson.

Memorials may be made to the Mission Valley Animal Shelter, Polson, or to an educational fund set up for Conrad Todd at First Interstate Bank, Polson, c/o Kristy.
