Lois Marie Cornelius

Lois Marie Cornelius, 86, died on Thursday, Aug. 12, 2004, at the Immanuel Lutheran Home in Kalispell.

She was born on Nov. 18, 1917, in Polson, to Frederick and Mollie (Rien) Blumhagen. Lois grew up with her younger sister and brother in the Polson farming community. She graduated from Polson High School in 1933.

She married James Cornelius and the couple made their home in Polson. In the mid-1950s Lois moved to Kalispell. When she retired, she moved to Columbia Falls.

She was the head housekeeper at the Immanuel Lutheran Home. Lois was well liked by neighbors and co-workers. She enjoyed playing cards, fly-fishing and taking drives to historic sites.

Lois was preceded in death by her husband, James Cornelius; one son, Duane; a great-grandson, Christian; and her brother, Walter.

She is survived by her son, Dennis Cornelius and his wife Jeanette and a daughter, Rita Cornelius, all of Kalispell; one sister, Eleanor Seiffert of Spokane; two grandchildren, and one great-grandson.

Memorial services for Lois were held Aug. 16, at the Johnson Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Peter Ramseth officiating.
