Arthur Gervais, Jr.

POLSON - Arthur Gervais, Jr., 89, of Polson died of natural causes on Sunday, Nov. 28, 2004, at Evergreen Health & Rehab Center. He was born June 19, 1915, at Menominee, Mich., to Arthur F. and Katherine (Dax) Gervais. He attended grade school and high school in Beloit, Wis., and graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a degree in Mining Engineering.

He married Elizabeth C. Kneip on Sept. 19, 1939, in Fairbanks, Alaska. Arthur joined the Army Transportation Corps during World War II, as a civilian engineer. After WWII he worked for the U.S. Department of Interior, United States Geological Survey as a Topographic Engineer (Surveyor), until his retirement in October 1975.

They lived in Colorado before moving to Sequim, Wash., in 1988 and then to Polson in October 2003.

He is survived by his wife Elizabeth Gervais of Polson; daughter Toni Burton of Polson, and granddaughter Andrea Burton of Missoula. Cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time. Arrangements and cremation were under the direction of Grogan Funeral Home and Crematory, Polson.
