Holidays are busy times for Bread Basket
Editor,
This was a very busy time for the Bread Basket. November was a time for a turkey basket with all the trimmings given to a record-breaking 200 families that came in.
As part of Town Pump's annual holiday drive, the Bread Basket received a check for $1,500 from the Town Pump in Butte and a check for $397 from the Ronan Town Pump.
A wonderful food donation of 700 pounds from the Lake County Detention Officers and Wal-Mart was also received. Many citizens and organizations also gave money and food to support the Bread Basket.
Now we are into the holiday season of December. The Bread Basket makes this basket of food special, too.
Our holiday food drive goes on all December. All food items and monetary gifts are very welcome.
The items we are giving out are: frozen turkeys or ham; cranberries; fruit cocktail; Jell-O; turkey dressing; pie filling or cake mix; peanut butter; canned vegetables and fruit; potatoes; fresh fruit; plus cereal; margarine; flour and sugar.
All of these items make for a wonderful dinner for our needy families, plus giving them enough food for three days. The Bread Basket is an emergency food outlet only, and we try to stay with this promise.
God Bless every one of you for your generous support. We could not share food with these needy families without you.
