Georgia Fox Kidd

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - Former Polson resident Georgia Fox Kidd, 61, died June 1, 2004, in Cedar Rapids after a short illness. She was born March 4, 1943, in Belleville, Ill., the daughter of George and Dorothy Parent Fox. She grew up in Iron Mountain, Mich., until the family moved to Scottsdale, Ariz., where she graduated from high school and attended Arizona State University.

She married David Kidd on June 8, 1963, and moved to the Kidd family farm in Montana. They were married for 24 years. She was very involved in church and community activities. Georgia graduated from Northern Montana College in 1989, and moved to Polson in 1990.

She taught for one year at Two Eagle River School. Later she opened the Bountiful Baskets gift shop in Polson.

She moved to Cedar Rapids in 1995 to be with her daughter and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter, Kimberly Rae, and an infant sister, Sharon.

Surviving are a daughter, Kelly (Mike) Rieger of Cedar Rapids; a son, Troy (Debra) Kidd of Redding, Calif.; a brother, Patrick Fox of Phoenix; four grandsons and one granddaughter.

Funeral services were held in Cedar Rapids on June 5 and burial was in the Iron Mountain cemetery on June 7.

A memorial service will be held in Joplin next Monday, July 12, at 11 a.m. at the Bethel Lutheran Church.
