We are not 'going it alone'
Editor,
I just read the letter (July 1) from Bob McClellan regarding our presence in Iraq. His statement about "going it alone" shows he is either not listening to the fact that the British, Australians, Italians and other countries have joined us in this endeavor, or, he is bound and determined to repeat the criticism of this administration.
To all who think this is a mistake, please remember the words of Abraham Lincoln: "Those who would deny freedom to others do not themselves deserve it."
It seems that many have criticisms of this administration's actions, but few have the inside knowledge about why we are doing what we are doing. I'm sure if they were as astute as they appear to be, they would be in Washington, D.C., and not in Montana.
My husband and I lived in Polson for 12 years and still have fond memories of this small, diverse, but close-knit town. We miss this area and the friends we made.
God bless all of you and this wonderful land we live in.
