'Loose change' is cost of Ronan girls' hoop camp

RONAN - Ronan girls' basketball camp will only cost pennies per day as Ronan High School's new coach, Dave Paisley, hosts a "loose change" camp from 9 a.m. until noon July 26-30 at the event center. The cost for girls entering grades 9-12 is simply loose change. Monday is penny day, Tuesday is nickel day, Wednesday is dime day, Thursday is quarter day, and Friday is dollar day. "It's whatever they have. Nobody has to bring a lot (of money)," organizer Susan Lake said. For more information, call Susan Lake at 676-4297.

Polson Junior Golf tourney underway

POLSON - The 2004 Polson Country Club Junior Golf tournament series is under way and continues each Thursday at 2 p.m. through Aug. 19 on the country club's Old Nine.

The tournament is open to all juniors between 6 and 14 years of age. Sign up by 1:30 p.m. Parents are encouraged to walk along as markers for the groups.

Register now for Ronan Football Camp

RONAN - The Ronan Football Camp will be July 26-29 for grades four through 12. The cost is $30 per athlete and additional family members will be $10. Checks should be made out to Ronan Football Camp and sent to Jamie Courville, 421 Andrews NW, Drawer R, Ronan MT 59864.

Athletes will need to bring a T-shirt, trunks, cleats, and a water bottle for camp. Non-contact camp skills and techniques will be taught. Campers must be enrolled students of School District 30 to attend.

Good Old Days includes hoops tourney

ST. IGNATIUS - Basketball players are invited to join in the action at Good Old Days in St. Ignatius on July 24.

Six men's/boys' divisions and six women's/girls' divisions will provide competition for third-graders up to adults. Sign-up and registration will be held at the Malt Shop from 7 to 9 p.m. on July 22. Cost is $50 per team.

The action begins on Blaine Street in front of the Malt Shop at 9 a.m. on July 24.

Pioneer Days 3-on-3 tourney August 7-8

RONAN - The 9th annual Pioneer Days 3-on-3 Jamboree Basketball Tournament, sponsored by KQRK Radio, K-O Auto, Salish-Kootenai College and St. Luke Community Health Care, will be held on 2nd Avenue in Ronan Aug. 7 and 8.

Thirteen divisions are offered, including third grade through adult. Special events include 6-, 8- and 9-foot dunk contests, plus three-point and free throw contests held on Western Building Center/Woody's center court.
