Wilma M. Loney

ST. IGNATIUS - Wilma Margaret Loney, 88, died July 14 in Ronan.

Wilma was born in Cascade on March 7, 1916. Her parents were William and Julia Cram. She grew up on the ranch on the west side of Sullivan Hill on Frost Creek and went to school at Flat Creek, Sullivan Valley School and Cascade High School.

Then she went back and worked on the ranch with her dad.

She met and married Bill Vineyard in 1939. They had one daughter, Vonnie and one granddaughter Michelle. They both preceded her in death.

She married Laurie Loney in 1953. Over the years they lived in Great Falls, Highwood, Shonkin, Marion, Lost Prairie and moved to the Mission Valley in 1993. Laurie died in November 1995. They raised and registered Morgan horses. Wilma and Laurie both had a great love of horses.

She is survived by her sister Vivian Brewer of Cascade; niece Barbara Roat of Alberton; nephew Bill Brewer of Powell Butte, Oregon; step-children Sharon Ruple, Clay Loney, Cleve Loney of Great Falls and Ross Loney of Tucson, Ariz., and many good friends in the area.

Services were held July 19 in the St. Ignatius Christian Church.
