Allen L. 'Pete' Peters

POLSON - Allen L. "Pete" Peters, 75, of Polson at St. Joseph Hospital on Thursday, July 22, 2004.

Pete was born Jan. 22, 1929, to George and Myrna Peters at Grants Pass, Ore. He attended and graduated from Geraldine High School. He enlisted into the U.S. Navy during WWII. In 1950, Pete married Darlene Holman at Great Falls, and cherished their 54 years of marriage.

Pete worked for the Great Falls Tribune for 36 years before retiring in 1988. He was a member of the Cascade County Sheriff's Posse and was a participant and judge for the Arabian Horse Association. Pete was also an avid golfer and bowler.

Pete was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Nita Jean Smith and Betty Jo Giese.

He is survived by his loving wife Darlene of Polson; his daughters, Linda (Gregory) Lucotch of Lewistown, Vickie Peters of Great Falls, Margie (Bruce) Solberg of Bigfork; sisters, Jackie Burns of Longview, Wash., and Carolyn Settera of Fort Benton; and brothers, Frank Peters of Portland, Ore., and John Peters of Square Butte; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

The family has stated that there will be no services. Memorials are suggested to the Lake County Home Health/Hospice at 711 Main Street SW in Ronan, MT 59864.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Grogan Funeral Home and Crematory of Polson.
