Charlo lives; Mission, Arlee wrap up
Mission defeated rival Arlee 25-17, 25-13 and 26-24 during the District 6B Tournament at Thompson Falls High School. The Bulldogs ended their season with losses to Thompson Falls and Plains during the tournament. The Bulldogs finished their season 2-11.
Head coach Gordon Crossley will lose eight seniors this year.
"We have some good underclassmen moving up next year who are all strong players and I expect to have a good team next year," said Crossley.
The Bulldogs will have setters Jennifer Gariepy and Barbara Pfeifer and hitters Ashley Mitchell, Sara Ashley and Kristin McClure return.
Arlee finished 4-8 in conference play and will lose five seniors.
"Some of our stronger girls are coming back for next year," said head coach Janna Perry.
Rayme Bringuel and Jonnell Weider are Arlee's returning hitters and Erin Snyder will be a returning setter.
"There is definitely a lot of talent coming back next year and they will be competitive next season" said Perry.
In the District 10-C Volleyball Tournament action last week in Noxon, Two Eagle lost to Noxon in three strait games, 25-15, 25-17 and 25-12. Charlo lost to Noxon in five games, 18-25, 9-25, 25-22, 25-18 and 15-9. Charlo defeated St. Regis in four games, 25-22, 25-19, 25-11 and 25-17.
Charlo then defeated Hot Springs in three games, 25-14, 25-15 and 25-19. Charlo faced Noxon again and defeated them 25-16, 25-22 and 25-16. Charlo played Noxon again in another championship game and won in four games - 25-16, 22-25, 25-16 and 25-12.. Charlo will face Gardiner Thursday at 3:00 in the Western C Divisional tourney at Twin Bridges High School.
