Earlene E. Lovinger

POLSON - Earlene E. Lovinger, 89, of Polson died of natural causes on Thursday, Nov. 4, 2004, at St. Joseph Hospital in Polson. She was born Oct. 26, 1915, to Edgar and Pearl (Steele) Hopkins in Hamilton, and attended schools in Hamilton and Missoula.

She married Lee Sanders of Stevensville in 1934, and to this marriage two sons were born, Jerry and George. This marriage ended in divorce and she married Frank Lovinger on April 6, 1949, in Missoula.

They made their home in Missoula, and later in Piltzville. She worked in the dry cleaning business from 1954 to 1960, from then until her retirement in 1977, she worked as a special duty nurse's aide.

Upon retirement she and Frank moved to Hot Springs, where they spent 19 busy years, until poor health forced them to move closer to medical help. They moved to Polson in 1997. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband Frank, and son George.

She is survived by son Jerry Sanders of Madison, Wisc.; brother Edgar (Mary) Hopkins of Corvallis; half-sister Phyllis (George) Sandau of Missoula; half-brother Jeanne (Jan) Sticht of Mesa, Ariz., two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two great-great- grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday Nov. 20 at 3 p.m. in the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Ronan with Larry Jensen officiating.

Upon her request her body has been cremated, her remains will be buried next to her husband in Missoula City Cemetery.
