Green Party may have the best outlook
Editor,
The so-called "insurgents" in Iraq are most difficult to pinpoint, understand and deal with because they are made up of many diverse yet rebellious groups.
There are the fanatical criminal, fanatical religious, fanatical political, fanatical terrorist elements, and the ordinary Iraqi citizens fanatical elements.
They are a very loosely banded group of people, but they have one very strong rallying cry: "Americans, go home."
If America had been taken over by some foreign military power, getting rid of a horrible leader hated by the rest of the world and hated by U.S. citizens, and then having this foreign power increase its domination of all facets of our lives without repairing the damage incurred by the invasion, there would be unrest.
There would be fanatical elements which would actively resist - criminals, militia groups, racial groups, religious groups, political groups, and common citizens.
These would be people that otherwise would never think of cooperating except that in this common cause of getting rid of military invaders, no longer needed, they would arm each other, fight and die together in the cause of freedom.
We can only hope that the new Iraqi government can exercise full control, politically, militarily, socially and economically, before it is too late.
It may be too late already, given the fact that few Iraqis even support this present puppet regime our leaders in Washington put in power.
They don't trust them. They don't like them. They don't support them. And they don't like being occupied by a foreign power.
I suggest voting for the Green Party - they seem to stand strongly and united for powerful, effective and peaceful ways to solve conflicts in this great world of ours.
