James W. Aznoe

James W. Aznoe joined his Lord and Savior on October 9, 2004, as a result of congestive heart failure.

He was born on Aug. 17, 1919, to Walter and Lydia Aznoe at the family homestead north of Great Falls. He graduated from Great Falls High School in 1937 and went to work as a bookkeeper for International Harvester. During WWII, he was a sergeant in the Army Air Corps assigned as a B-17 aerial engineer. Later he owned and operated Benton Equipment Co. in Fort Benton for 24 years.

Jim and Lois retired in Polson, MT in 1980. He was member of Polson Community Church.

His hobbies included part time farming, camping, golfing, fishing, woodworking and being a jokester. Jim was appreciated for his wisdom and wit.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Arland and Charles.

Survivors include his wife, Lois of Missoula, daughter Karen Kersul and husband, George of Spokane; two sons, Kent and wife, Cindy of Missoula, Gerald and wife Paula of Polson, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A memorial service was held Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2004, at the Polson Community Church with the Rev. Richard Widerholdt officiating. Remembrances may be directed to Polson Community Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 1033, Polson, MT 59860.
