Russell Kent Homer, Jr.
BURBANK, Wash. - Russell Kent Homer, Jr met his eternal family Aug 30, 2004, when he expired by the side of his wife at home in Burbank.
He was born Oct 13, 1934 at the home his father built in Charlo. He was married Aug 1, 1959, to his wife Linda and then sealed for time and eternity in the Idaho Falls Temple. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints, and had a strong testimony of his Savior Jesus Christ and the Book of Mormon.
He had a long struggle with health issues most of his life. He is happier now with his father Russell Kent Homer, Sr., mother Fay, brother David, and extended family preceding him.
Russell is survived by his wife Linda; six children: Cindy (Terry) Howard of Kennewick, Wash., Boyd (Pam) Homer of Kennewick, Vernon Homer of Burbank, Brian (Michelle) Homer of Kennewick, Paul (Jen) Homer of Pasco, Wash., and Fern Homer of Burbank; 22 grandchildren: Christian, Adam, Amy, Sarah, Benjamin, Jacob, Alice, David, Marie, Carly, Mark, Melinda, Mechelle, Jeanna, Andrew, Brittain, Braden, Brenna, Jasmyne, Zackery, Brytnee, and Del; 11 brothers and sisters: Eva Shaw of Meridian, Idaho, Jim (Gwen) Homer of Ford, Wash., Lynn, (Gladys) Homer of Burbank, Hugh (Beverly) Homer of Salome, Ariz., Jo (Bill) Johnson of Lacey, Wash., Clea (Tom) Aust of Spanish Fork, Utah, Ellen (Cliff) Godfrey of Palmer, Alaska, Bryce (Lorraine) Homer of Pleasant Grove, Utah, Don (Jill) Homer of Federal Way, Wash., Midge Blake of Anchorage Alaska, and Daniel, (Pam) Homer of Boise, many uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He was a farmer, first and at heart. He loved growing up on a farm in Charlo and farming in Quincy from 1958 to 1966 and then Burbank. He enjoyed going to his 50th year class and all school reunion in 2003. He had a great sense of humor and was always doing things to make people happy. His life is replete with stories of antics and practical jokes. He loved and is loved by his family and will be greatly missed.
The funeral was Sept. 4 LDS Church in Burbank with burial at Desert Lawn Memorial Park in Kennewick.
Mueller's Greenlee Funeral Home in Pasco was in charge of arrangements.
